LIGHT EMITTING DIODE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode and its manufacturing method.SOLUTION: The light emitting diode comprises: a transparent substrate 51; semiconductor material layers 53 and 54 including an light emitting active layer 57 laminated on the top surface of the substrate and emitting light; and a fluorescent layer 59 formed on the back surface of the substrate 51 and having varied thicknesses. Consequently, white light in homogeneous color profile is generated by adjusting the thickness of the fluorescent layer to control the emission ratio of light generated by the light emitting layer and light of various wavelengths generated as the light changes.
