PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-component developing device free from problems such as fog and scatter.SOLUTION: The developing device includes: a supply means provided substantially below a developing means and parallel to the developing means, used for conveying developer in a first direction while stirring the developer, and for supplying the developer to the developing means; a recovering means provided substantially above the supply means and parallel to the developing means and used for conveying developer in the first direction and recovering the developer after development; a stirring means disposed above the supply means, parallel to the developing means, and next to the recovering means, and used for conveying developer in the reverse direction of the first direction while stirring the developer, for receiving developer scooped by the supply means at the start-point side thereof, and circulating the developer to the supply means at the termination side thereof; and a replenishment means disposed on the downstream side of the supply means and used for replenishing the developer-scooping place of the stirring means with toner or developer. The developing device is configured such that toner or developer supplied from the supply means collides with developer conveyed by the supply means, and is scooped by the stirring means. |
