PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface fine irregular body exhibiting excellent performance as an optical element, and a method for manufacturing the same, and to further provide a transfer body with the irregular pattern of the surface fine irregular body transferred thereto, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the surface fine irregular body includes: a laminated film forming step of forming a laminated film by providing a resin hard layer onto at least one surface a resin base composed of a heat contractive film; and a shrinking sep of foldingly deforming the hard layer to form the irregular pattern by heating the laminated film to contract the base. In the shrinking step, the laminated film is shrunk while applying force thereto not to be shrunk in a direction perpendicular to a main direction of shrinking. The thusly manufactured surface fine irregular body has a deeper irregular pattern, and is suitable for use in the optical element such as an antireflection body and a wire grid polarizer. |
