PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle transmission apparatus capable of reducing a period until a shift stage is formed from a neutral state after a requested driving force from a driver increases and an acceleration operating state is established.SOLUTION: This vehicle transmission apparatus includes: an input member I drive-coupled to an engine E; an output member O drive-coupled to a wheel 18; a transmission mechanism TM provided with a plurality of shift stages formed by a plurality of engagement elements, changing the rotational speed of the input member I at a gear ratio of each of the shift stages and transmitting the changed rotational speed to the output member O; and a control device 31 controlling the transmission mechanism TM. When transitioning to an actual traveling state by forming one of the shift stages from a free running state in which a vehicle is in a traveling state and the transmission mechanism TM is in the neutral state, the control device 31 performs control to determine one final target shift stage according to vehicle speed and a driver request, and an intermediate target shift stage with the lower gear ratio, and to form the final target shift stage after formation of the intermediate target shift stage. |
