PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for stably continuing repair operation and for facilitating maintenance management on repair quality.SOLUTION: A repair device and a method for a display device that apply a light-shielding liquid material to a display defect part which is always a bright point of the display device to make the part always not bright include a container part where the light-shielding liquid material is reserved and a reciprocal driving part which has a rod-like member disposed in the container part and operates the rod-like member reciprocally along a length, an opening part is provided at a part facing the display device of the container, a tip part of the rod-like member being arranged to move out of and in the opening part by the operation of the reciprocal driving part. An outside air shielding mechanism having an openable/closable structure is provided outside the opening part, and closed to cover a tip part of a transfer coating part and opened to stick the held light-shielding material on a surface of the display defect part, so that the light-shielding material is transferred and applied to and stuck on the display defect part. |
