PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover a metal(s) from a target consisting essentially of a Co-Cr-Pt-based metal or a Co-Cr-Pt-Ru-based metal and one or more metal oxides selected from the group consisting of SiO, TiO, CrO, CoO and TaOwith reduced number of steps and also with reduced intrusion of impurities.SOLUTION: The target 1 is heated in an upper crucible 12 of a two-level crucible 10 that includes the upper crucible 12 with a through hole 12B formed in a bottom surface, and a lower crucible 14 disposed below the through hole 12B. The target 1 is heated at a temperature of from 1,400 to 1,790°C if the target 1 does not contain both TiOand TaO. The target 1 is heated at a temperature of from 1,400 to 1,630°C if the target 1 contains TiObut does not contain TaO. The target 1 is heated at a temperature of from 1,400 to 1,460°C if the target 1 contains TaO. The metal thereby melted is caused to flow into the lower crucible 14, so that the metal is separated from the metal oxide. |
