PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminate type electric double layer capacitor that suppresses deterioration in electric characteristics in a voltage load state in high-temperature environment.SOLUTION: The electric double layer capacitor includes a capacitor element having a positive electrode sheet and a negative electrode sheet laminated with a separator interposed, the positive electrode sheet having a polarizable electrode for a positive electrode side at least on one surface of a metallic collector, and the negative electrode sheet having a polarizable electrode for a negative electrode side at least on one surface of a metallic collector. The positive electrode sheet and negative electrode sheet have through holes formed near center parts thereof, the through hole formed in the positive electrode sheet being larger in size than the through hole formed in the negative electrode sheet. A pressure regulating valve is provided on a sealing member sealing an encapsulating case housing the capacitor element together with an electrolyte or on the encapsulating case when necessary. |
