PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network camera enabling a user to easily set a network for himself/herself without requiring knowledge about a network.SOLUTION: When the network camera is activated or a network switch 6 is switched, a CPU 3 reads either of positions "default", "manual" or "auto" indicated by the network switch 6, acquires IP address/subnet mask information corresponding to each of them, and starts communication. An image pickup section 1 picks up an image of a monitoring object to acquire image data, a compression section 2 compresses the image data at a predetermined compression method and a communication section 5 outputs the image data by using a set IP address/subnet mask to the network. |
