PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image quality of an image recorded on electronic paper.SOLUTION: An image recording apparatus supplies the electronic paper which has coloring charged particles and displays the image by moving the coloring charged particles to a thickness direction in an area where an electrical field is generated in the thickness direction. The electrical field in the thickness direction is formed by a latent image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is carried and by a voltage applying member. In relation to an absolute value V1 of the maximum voltage and an absolute value V2 of the minimum voltage on the latent image carrier and an absolute value V3 of a voltage applied to the voltage applying member, an absolute value of a difference between V1 and V3 and an absolute value of a difference between V2 and V3 are lower than a breakdown voltage between the image carrier and the opposed member. Thereby, the generation of discharge spots of the image recorded on the electronic paper is prevented, and a favorable image is formed. |
