Disclosed is a preparation method for a compound represented by formula (3), in which a compound represented by formula (1), a compound represented by formula (2), and hydrogen peroxide are reacted in a solvent, whereby the compound represented by formula (3), which is a starting material for producing an organic semiconductor material, can be prepared in high yield. (In the formula, ring A and ring B are either the same or different and represent an aromatic ring, and R1 and R2 are either the same or different and represent a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl group, or an optionally substituted aryl group.)
