The bowl (1) has a base body (2) provided with a through hole (3), and a retaining ring (5) for holding a translucent pane (4) in the through hole. Elastomer rings (7, 8) are pressed against a major side of the translucent pane by the retaining ring such that the elastomer rings seal the translucent pane against the base body. The elastomer rings are arranged in a groove (6) of a sealing collar. An inner jacket surface (12) of the base body and an outer jacket surface (10) of the retaining ring include an angle from 0.5-2.5 degree with respect to a transit direction (11). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an oil sediment bowl.
