PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of fabricating fibers of silicon or silicon-based materials and their usage as active anode materials in a lithium accumulator.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing electrode fibers of silicon or silicon containing materials for an anode of a lithium ion battery, includes steps of: etching a silicon substrate or a silicon containing substrate to form pillars; and removing the pillars from the substrate.
