PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slag foam production method for producing a slag foam with a desired absolute dry specific gravity.SOLUTION: A slag foam is produced by: specifying a viscosity corresponding to a desired absolute dry specific gravity of a slag foam to be produced by employing an absolute dry specific gravity of a slag foam sample, which is obtained by firing slag derived from a coal sample with a known composition, and a viscosity-absolute dry specific gravity characteristic, which is a relation between the firing temperature of the slag and the viscosity of the slag foam sample calculated from the composition of the coal sample; calculating the composition of coal from the firing temperature of the slag and the viscosity at the time of forming the slag foam according to a Watt&Fereday model expression; adding additives to coal as a raw material to give the calculated coal composition; and firing the slag produced from coal mixed with the additives at the firing temperature. Consequently, in a firing apparatus the firing temperature of which is limited, the composition of coal for obtaining the slag foam with a desired absolute dry specific gravity can be obtained. |
