摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decarburizing chromium-containing steel by blowing oxygen which allows the use of inexpensive general-purpose Fe-Cr alloy as a chromium source in producing a low-sulfur chromium-containing steel required to contain about ≤0.013 mass% of S at the starting point of decarburization by blowing oxygen.SOLUTION: The method includes: producing a chromium-containing molten steel containing 2 to 8 mass% of C and 10 mass% or more of Cr in an electric furnace; preparing a low-chromium molten steel containing 4 mass% or less of Cr; mixing X (ton) of the chromium-containing molten steel with the low-chromium molten steel to obtain Y (ton) of a mixed molten steel containing 8 to 26 mass% of Cr, so as to satisfy the relation: 0.52≤X/Y≤0.80; and decarburizing the mixed molten steel by blowing oxygen in a refining vessel. Thereby, the chromium-containing molten steel is subjected to light desulfurization when produced in an electric furnace; the low-chromium molten steel is subjected to heavy desulfurization; and when both are mixed, a targeted low-S molten steel can be obtained even if general-purpose Fe-Cr alloy having a high S content is used.
