PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature prediction method which can predict the temperature of a steel plate with high precision, can estimate heat of transformation accurately even in such a case that a heating temperature zone changes due to change of cooling temperature history, and is very suitable for temperature prediction at a heating facility, transfer equipment, and cooling equipment in a hot rolling process.SOLUTION: The temperature prediction method for the steel plate is used for prediction of plate temperature of the steel plate W that is cooled or heated in the hot rolling process; and includes: a plate temperature prediction step to calculate heat balance between the steel plate W and its exterior and to obtain the predictive value for plate temperature of the steel plate W in consideration of heat generation that is calculated based on the transformation heat caused by the transformation of the steel plate W or the transformation heat transmission speed; and a transformation factor changing step which corrects the transformation heat or the transformation heat transmission speed depending upon the degree of over-cooling or over-heating of the steel plate W. |
