PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform methane fermentation by suppressing the deposition of calcium carbonate CaCOby preventing the calcium carbonate CaCOfrom being attached to the inside of a tube of a heat exchanger, and being caused by heating a methane fermentation liquid obtained by subjecting material to be fermented to methane fermentation to a temperature or higher of the methane fermentation liquid and by performing the treatment (sterilization) of the methane fermentation liquid.SOLUTION: A heating treatment tank for heating the methane fermentation liquid output from a methane fermentation tank in the closed state is provided and, thereby, the inside of the heating treatment tank is pressurized, carbon dioxide is made into such a state as to be dissolved in the methane fermentation liquid and the deposition of calcium carbonate is prevented.
