PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for recovering high-quality tantalum from tantalum-containing waste by reducing various impurities such as antimony (Sb) and phosphorous (P), which hinder the reuse in tantalum capacitors.SOLUTION: The method for recovering tantalum from tantalum-containing waste is characterized in that the tantalum-containing waste is subjected to an acid treatment and then an alkali treatment, thereby recovering tantalum. The acid treatment is preferably carried out using an acid containing hydrochloric acid, and the alkali treatment is preferably carried out by sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. The tantalum-containing waste is preferably a tantalum sintered compact removed from a tantalum capacitor.
