PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket capable of restraining a plug from inadvertently being pulled out and easily incorporated into a device, and a charging device having the socket.SOLUTION: The socket 10 includes a socket body 20 having plug-blade insertion ports 25 in front into which plug blades of the plug are inserted. A projection 23 for positioning a wall body 5 on the socket body 20 when mounted to the wall body 5 and projecting from a front surface of the socket body 20 to the front, and a support plate 30 projecting from the front surface of the socket body 20 further toward the front than the projection 23 are arranged on the socket body 20, and the support plate 30 prevents the plug blades from being pulled out of the plug-blade insertion ports by fixing a projection formed at the plug while the plug is inserted into the plug-blade insertion port.
