PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the intensity of diffraction light spreading to parts other than a photoelectric conversion unit by diffraction effect of light incident upon an opening in the photoelectric conversion unit serving as a light-receiving unit to increase the sensitivity, thereby suppressing noise such as smear or color mixture in a solid-state image pickup device.SOLUTION: The device includes the photoelectric conversion unit 4, a charge accepting unit 7 to which charges are transferred from the photoelectric conversion unit 4, and a light control film 21 formed on the photoelectric conversion unit 4, having an opening 19 which is reversely tapered in section, and reducing the intensity of diffraction light spreading to parts other that the photoelectric conversion unit. |
