PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer performing printing by current carrying to a thermal head and capable of responding to high-speed printing while securing good printing quality.SOLUTION: A tape printing device 1 selectively supplies electricity to a plurality of heating elements 41A provided in the thermal head 41 in line with respect to each printing cycle T, and performs printing on a basis of printing line data 55 constituting printing data 50. The printing cycle T comprises a heating period H and a non-heating period C. Normally, along with start of the printing cycle T, the heating period H is started, and after the heating period H passes, the non-heating period C is started. When the number of the heating elements 41A heated based on the printing line data 55 which is current and the last printing targets exceeds a predetermined number and the number of the heating elements 41A heated based on the printing line data 55 becoming a printing target afterward is a predetermined number or less (Yes in S3), the tape printing device 1 delays a start time of the heating period H of the current printing cycle T from a start time of the printing cycle T by a heating delay period L. |
