PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scale deposition to an anode of an electro-osmotic dewatering device in electro-osmotic dewatering treatment of sludge.SOLUTION: When sludge generated in biological treatment of wastewater is subjected to electro-osmotic dewatering treatment, a chlorine-containing chemical, such as hydrochloric acid, polyaluminium chloride, and hypochlorous acid (hypochlorite), is added to the sludge subjected to dewatering treatment. Preferably the amount of the added chlorine-containing chemical is ≥0.3 wt.%/DS, in terms of Cl. By adding the chlorine-containing chemical to the sludge to be treated, the scale deposition on the anode of the electro-osmotic dewatering device can be effectively prevented, and the electrical conductivity of the anode can be maintained to perform the electro-osmotic dewatering treatment stably and efficiently over a long period of time. |
