PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge transport compound usable for a charge transport layer of an imaging member for electrophotography, and to provide a synthetic method thereof.SOLUTION: There is provided a compound represented by the formula [wherein, R, R, Rand Rcan be the same or different, and are selected from (i) hydrogen, (ii) alkyl, (iii) aryl, (iv) arylalkyl, (v) alkylaryl, (vi) alkoxy, (vii) aryloxy, (viii) arylalkyloxy and (ix) alkylaryloxy; and Ris (i) alkylene, (ii) arylene, (iii) arylalkylene, or (iv) alkylarylene]. The compound is provided by bringing a hydroxy-functionalized triarylamine into contact with a dihalide in an alkaline aqueous solution at room temperature. |
