The device has an active bonnet (1) automatically supported in a front window facing a rear area for detecting a crash with a pedestrian. An automatically inflatable wheel airbag (2) is positioned on an outer side of the vehicle over portion of a windscreen and region of a vehicle, where the windscreen is adjacent to a front window of a vehicle body. The wheel airbag is activated and coupled with a power supply (4). A rear portion of the bonnet is coupled with a piston (5) for raising the bonnet, where the piston is arranged in a pneumatic cylinder (3).
