<p>The method involves detecting a spotlight (11) of an oncoming vehicle (2) i.e. foreign vehicle, by a sensor system (3). A position of the oncoming vehicle is determined from sensor data using navigation data. Determination is made to find whether a wrong-way driver is driving the oncoming vehicle based on the determined position of the oncoming vehicle. A warning signal is output to the driver when the wrong-way driver is recognized. Multiple measurements of the spotlight taken from different points of time relative position of the oncoming vehicle are computed. An independent claim is also included for a device for recognizing wrong-way drivers.</p>
