PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a depth calculation method to be used to generate a parallax image representing unevenness of an object with a three-dimensional effect by depth distribution in a screen calculated by a plurality of methods.SOLUTION: A parallax image generation device includes a first depth calculating part, a second depth calculating part and a third combining part. The first depth calculating part includes a first estimating part for estimating distribution information in accordance with a specific pixel value pattern, a second estimating part for estimating distribution information on the basis of the movement of a first image, and a first combining part for combining the distribution information estimated by the first estimating part with the distribution information estimated by the second estimating part to generate first depth information. The second depth calculating part generates second depth information showing relative unevenness of each object in the first image. The third combining part combines the first depth information with the second depth information by a method different from the first combining part to generate third depth information.
