PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an aqueous pigment dispersion for inkjet recording, capable of achieving an improvement of print density and rubfastness of a printed image while keeping the good dispersibility and jettability required for the printing for inkjet recording.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the aqueous pigment dispersion includes a kneading step for kneading a mixture containing a pigment (a), a styrene-acrylic acid-based copolymer (b), a basic compound (c) and a wetting agent (d) to produce a pigment dispersion solid at normal temperature, and a mixing step for mixing and stirring the pigment dispersion in an aqueous medium. The improvements of the print density and the rubfastness of the printed image while keeping the good dispersibility and jettability are achieved by adding a saccharide compound in a specific step of the production process of the aqueous pigment dispersion. |
