PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer which ensures high polymerization stability and drawability after yarn-making without spoiling productivity and processability and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The method for producing the polymer comprises polymerizing an acrylonitrile-based polymer by heat treating a solution comprising acrylonitrile, a radical polymerization initiator, a polymerization inhibitor, a component copolymerizable with acrylonitrile and a solvent, wherein a weight ratio (B/A) between the radical polymerization initiator (A) and the polymerization inhibitor (B) satisfies 2≤(B/A)<210 and the polymerization inhibitor is used in an amount of 10-140 ppm relative to the total amount of the solution. |
