The device has a reservoir with a saw unit to produce recesses (4) in an edge protection element (1), where the element is made of cardboard or paper and comprises an angle (2) including legs (3). Each leg comprises the recess arranged at specific length of the element. A guide device supplies the element to the saw unit. The elements are aligned in stack and arranged in a vertical form to the transport direction in the reservoir, where the lowest edge protection element is arranged in a detection range of the guide unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an edge protection angle element.
