The mower has a drive with a foot control element for controlling speed and operation of a brake. Two firmly coupled rockers are coupled with pedal drives (2.1, 2.2) for forward and reverse movement of the mower. The rocker is connected with a power transmission mechanism for controlling the drive. Brake pedals (3) are arranged beside the drive and connected with another power transmission mechanism for driving the mower in forward direction. The pedal drives of the former power transmission mechanism are partially decoupled by a decoupling device (4) for actuating the brake pedals.
