PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen gas generating apparatus which produces hydrogen gas efficiently by improving hydrolysis reaction rate of a metal hydride, called a chemical hydride. SOLUTION: A metal hydride 12, which produces hydrogen by hydrolysis, is fixed to a reactor 11. Water, pressurized by a pump 13, is sprayed onto the metal hydride 12. A water pressure and a sprayed position are adjusted so that a product produced through the hydrolysis can be stripped and removed from the surface of the metal hydride 12. By avoiding that a film of the product becomes obstruction of contacting the metal hydride with the water, rate of the reaction is improved. Other methods such as a vibration of the metal hydride in a water and a pulverization and reaction of the metal hydride, being pulverized to an extent of dust explosion caused, can also avoid the film of the product obstructing reaction to improve rate oft the reaction. |
