The hammer (1) has a hammer head (2) and a handle (3), where the hammer head has a bore hole (7) and the handle has a handle pipe (4) formed from metal. The handle pipe carries a casing (5) made of damping material. The handle pipe carries a bearing plate (6) at the hammer head side, which is connected with the handle pipe.
