<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting temperature of a gear system for railway rolling stock by which temperature of a gear system can be predicted by neither receiving time-constraints and maximum-speed running-time constraints, nor raising the need for a large/high performance wind-tunnel. <P>SOLUTION: The inside calorific-value and inside heat-transfer coefficient of a gear box 1 in the gear-system for railway rolling-stocks are derived in advance. Coupled analysis is conducted on the basis of the beforehand derived inside calorific-value, and the inside heat-transfer coefficient, and heat-flow phenomena for obtaining flow conditions around the gear box 1 and heat-transfer phenomena in the gear-box part. By the above coupled analysis, temperature change in the running time of lubricating oil 6 sealed in the inside of the gear box 1 is predicted. Thus, temperature of the gear system under actual running condition of the railway rolling stock can be simply predicted at low cost. Temperature characteristics in actual use can be known in advance, and reliability of the gear system can be enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
