Method and device for cleaning a viewing panel of a fire alarm

The method involves forming pressure in a hollow space (3) below an elastic lip (1), and escaping the pressure as pulsating gas flow when the lip strikes on a glass pane. The gas flow is guided over a surface of a viewing pane (5). A degree of pollution of the pane is monitored. A signal is outputted to a control unit during exceeding of predetermined limit of the degree of pollution. A pressure generating unit is switched by the control unit for supplying the gas flow into the hollow space between the lip and the pane until the degree of pollution is not exceeded the predetermined limit. An independent claim is also included for a device for cleaning a viewing pane of a fire alarm.
