The invention relates to a retaining ring for axially fixing an inner ring on one side in relation to an outer ring of a premounted rolling bearing. The aim of the invention is to simplify the handling of such rolling bearings. The retaining ring according to the invention has at least one opening which connects the rolling compartment to the surroundings of the premounted rolling bearing.
