MODULAR TOBACCO PREPARATION INCLUDING EXTRUSION

The method involves preparing a tobacco material by an extrusion process. The tobacco material is compressed with rise in temperature and pressure, and a mechanical treatment and flash drying of the tobacco material are performed at an outlet of an extruder (3), where the tobacco material comprises a tobacco lamina material and a tobacco rib material. The tobacco material is extruded to produce a tobacco preparation product. Burley tobacco lamina material and a mixture of Virginia and Orient tobacco lamina material are separately prepared. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a tobacco preparation unit (2) an arrangement of tobacco preparation units (3) a smoking article manufacturing device.
