The system (10) has a fitting (20) connected to an end of a shock absorber, and a guide unit (30) for guiding the fitting in translation. A deformable energy absorber unit (40) is fixed to the fitting. A fusible retention unit fixes the fitting to a flank (4''). The fusible retention unit is ruptured from a predetermined threshold in order to allow the fitting to move under guidance from the guide unit so as to deform the energy absorber unit. The guide unit has two slide rails co-operating with a movable shoe of the fitting. An independent claim is also included for an aircraft provided with landing gear.
