The invention relates to a gear knob (1) for a gear lever of a vehicle transmission, which has a substantially tubular gear knob core piece (2) which accommodates a free end of the gear lever, a gear knob tulip head (4) which is separated from the gear knob core piece (2) by a first soft component (3), and at least one attachment (6, 7) which is connected to the gear knob (1). According to the invention, the first soft component (3) is disposed between the gear knob core piece (2) and the gear knob tulip head (4) in such a manner that the gear knob core piece (2) is completely uncoupled acoustically from the gear knob tulip head (4).
