Honeycomb structure and seal material

摘要

There are proposed a honeycomb structure capable of holding a high durability over a long time and a seal material (adhesion material ) strongly joining and sealing it. Particularly, a layer of the seal material comprises an inorganic binder and oxide particles having a particle size of 0.01-100 µm for the honeycomb structure having an excellent resistance to thermal shock and a high joining strength, and a honeycomb structure is proposed by joining a plurality of honeycomb units with the seal material. This honeycomb structure can be used in an apparatus for the purification of an exhaust gas in automobiles and the like.
