PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane separation type reactor which can use the properties of a palladium-copper alloy membrane and can efficiently perform a steam reforming reaction and the separation and refinement of hydrogen.SOLUTION: The membrane separation type reactor 1 includes a hydrogen separation membrane 2 containing palladium and copper and having an average copper content of 38-48 mass%, and a steam reforming catalyst layer 3 made of a steam reforming catalyst for steam reforming hydrocarbons and disposed on the outer peripheral side of the hydrogen separation membrane 2. In the hydrogen separation membrane 2, the inlet of the hydrocarbons and hydrogen is located upstream, and the difference between the average copper contents of an upstream side half 2A and a downstream side half 2B is 4-10 mass%. |
