PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road illumination device that can be reduced in weight.SOLUTION: The road illumination device includes: a body 12 supported by an arm 11; an upper cover 13 for covering the upper part of the body 12; an LED light-emitting part 14 and a power supply block 15 which are fixed to the lower side of the upper cover 13; a light-emitting panel 16 provided at the lower side of the body 12 so as to transmit light emitted from the LED light-emitting part 14; and a power-supply block storage part 17 provided protrusively at the lower side of the body 12 in order to store the power supply block 15 therein. The thickness dimension T1 of a part where the LED light-emitting part 14 is arranged is smaller than the thickness dimension T2 of a part where the power supply block 15 is arranged.
