PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing structure of a collision energy absorbing member of an automobile allowing effective improvement of collision energy absorbing performance of the collision energy absorbing member such as a front side member of the automobile.SOLUTION: In the collision energy absorbing member (the front side member, etc.) 12 including a U-shaped cross section with a fringe having an opened end, a clip-shaped patch member 13 prepared by bending a metal plate material is inserted into a portion P which is predicted to deform most on an opened end side of the collision energy absorbing member 12 when impact force of a longitudinal direction is applied to the collision energy absorbing member 12, and the patch member 13 is joined by spot-welding. |
