PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which can easily replace a line sensor unit or only an image sensor from the front surface of the image reader, and to provide an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: In the image reader to which a lid for covering the upper part of the line sensor unit is attached so as to be opened, the glass of an original conveying surface is fixed by fixing means arranged at both ends of the line sensor unit. A line sensor is attachable and removable by opening the lid and releasing the fixing means. Besides, attachment means to the image reader are arranged at both the ends of the line sensor unit, and thereby the line sensor unit itself is attachable and removable by operating the attachment means. By this, the line sensor unit of the image reader is easily maintained. |
