PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce communication traffics between a master computer and a worker computer, due to extraction and deletion of unused blocks and, to further reduce processing loads of the master computer, when a file deletion request constituted of a plurality of blocks occupies the majority.SOLUTION: Each worker computer is made to hold management information on which file a block held in a storage means of itself belongs to, and extraction and deletion processing by units of file (set of blocks) is executed prior to extraction and deletion processing by units of block when the unused blocks are extracted and deleted.
