This invention provides a wireless communication system comprising: a first wireless communication apparatus that has a plurality of transmission antennas and uses MIMO scheme to transmit signals; and a second wireless communication apparatus that receives the signals. When the first wireless communication apparatus performs transmission in a rank that is smaller than the number of transmission antennas, the first wireless communication apparatus allocates the same frequency for those ones of the plurality of transmission antennas from which the same data are transmitted.
