PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber laser and a laser beam amplifier, capable of maintaining high reliability of a fusion bonding part between double-clad fibers or between a double-clad fiber and an SMF (single mode fiber) for a long period of time while protecting the fusion bonding part, or capable of maintaining high reliability of an end part of a double-clad fiber for a long period of time while protecting the end part.SOLUTION: A protector 5 is provided at a fusion bonding part between double-clad fibers 4 and 6, a protector 7 is provided at a fusion bonding part between the double-clad fiber 6 and a CPF (cladding pumped fiber) 8, and a protector 9 is provided at a fusion bonding part between the CPF 8 and an SMF 10. The protectors 5 and 7 protect the fusion bonding parts between the double clad fibers and also diffuse heat caused by excitation light leaked from the fusion bonding parts outward. The protector 9 protects the fusion bonding part between the CPF 8 and the SMF 10 and also diffuses heat caused by residual excitation light excluded from the fusion bonding part outward. |
