PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for simply producing a 3,3-difluoro-2,3-dihydroindol-2-one derivative which is useful as a drug and an agricultural chemical and synthetic intermediates thereof.SOLUTION: The process for producing a 3,3-difluoro-2,3-dihydroindol-2-one represented by formula (1) (wherein Ris a 1-4C alkyl group; Ris the same or different and each hydrogen, a halogen, a 1-4C alkyl group or the like; and n is 1 or 2) comprises cyclizing a (2-aminophenyl)difluoroacetic acid ester.
