PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ballast water-charging and discharging apparatus which allows a ballast water treatment device volume to be a volume for treating only a necessary volume, thereby assuring the cutback of facility design.SOLUTION: The ballast water-charging and discharging apparatus of a ship comprises a ballast water transfer means, and a ballast water treatment device 4 wherein ballast water taken in by driving the ballast water transfer means is treated by the ballast water treatment device 4, and thereafter charged into a ballast tank 2 when charging the ballast water, and the water in the ballast tank 2 is discharged out of the ship without passing through the ballast water treatment device 4 by driving the ballast water transfer means when discharging the ballast water. The ballast water transfer means has at least two convertible driving modes of a first driving mode for driving when discharging the ballast water and a second driving mode for driving when charging the ballast water where the second driving mode is smaller in a flow rate than the first driving mode. |
