PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element having high short-circuit current density and high photoelectric conversion efficiency.SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion element comprises a first electrode, a second electrode, and an active layer arranged between the first electrode and the second electrode, wherein the active layer comprises a polymeric compound having a structural unit represented by formula (1), and the inverse of the excitation energy of the polymeric compound required for the shift from the singlet ground state to the lowest excited singlet state is 0.43 (eV) or more as calculated by the time-dependent density functional theory. [In the formula, Arand Arindependently represent a trivalent aromatic hydrocarbon group, or a trivalent heterocyclic group; Xand Xindependently represent -O-, -S-, -C(=O)-, -S(=O)-, -SO-, -C(R)(R)-, -Si(R)(R)-, -N(R)-, -B(R)-, -P(R)- or -P(=O)(R)-]. |
