PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stereoscopic display satisfactorily in a plurality of arrangement states without lowering resolution.SOLUTION: In a display part 4, time-division display of parallactic images for stereoscopic vision (image for a left eye and image for a right eye) is performed by optionally switching an arrangement direction to a first arrangement state and a second arrangement state. A light beam direction control element 1 alternately deflects an advancing direction of the light from a backlight 2 to two directions different from each other so as to achieve stereoscopic vision in synchronization with the time-division display in the display part 4. The light beam direction control element 1 deflects the advancing direction of the light from the backlight 2 to a direction corresponding to the arrangement state of the display part 4 so as to achieve the stereoscopic vision even when the arrangement state of the display part 4 is any of the first arrangement state and the second arrangement state. |
