PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permeable reactive wall and a ground water purifying structure which prevent deterioration in performance and the elution of manganese from the permeable reactive wall to ground water, which are caused by a decrease in the pH of ground water, when applying an adsorbent, which is obtained by mixing volcanic ash soil with an iron salt and firing the mixture, to the permeable reactive wall.SOLUTION: The permeable reactive wall 5, which is provided in a wall-like shape in an aquifer 2 so as to block the flow of anion-contaminated ground water, includes: the adsorbent composed of the fired material of the volcanic ash soil, which is obtained by adding at least one iron salt selected from the group consisting of ferrous sulfate, ferric sulfate, ferrous chloride and ferric chloride, and if necessary, calcium hydroxide to the volcanic ash soil, and firing this mixture; and a granular material including calcium carbonate and/or magnesium carbonate. |
